How to organize the pages of a PDF: reorder, duplicate and extract

Organize PDF pages in your browser: move them with arrows to reorder, click thumbnails to duplicate or extract, and download a new file for each task. Free.
How to organize the pages of a PDF
Organizing the pages of a PDF in AtlasDocs comes down to three tools, all showing page thumbnails. Reorder moves each page with arrows until the sequence is right; Duplicate repeats the chosen pages, 1 to 20 copies each; Extract takes only the marked pages into a new file. Each tool downloads its own PDF and leaves the original untouched on your device, with nothing sent to a server.
Reordering the pages
When the sheets are out of sequence, such as the attachment before the text or the cover page in the middle, reordering fixes it without touching the content of any of them. You use the ← and → arrows under each thumbnail to move the page one position at a time until you reach the right order. The numbering printed inside the pages stays the same; what changes is the sequence they follow in the file.
- Open the Reorder pages tool and upload your PDF. With more than one file uploaded, pick which one to edit in the "Document" selector.
- Click the ← and → arrows under the thumbnail to swap the page with its neighbor; repeat until the order is right. The number under each thumbnail is the original page number, so you don't lose track.
- Click "Apply new order and download". The button only unlocks after you move at least one page; the file is saved with the suffix -reordenado.
Duplicating pages
Duplicating helps when the same page has to appear more than once: recurring forms, labels, an attachment that goes out in several copies. You click the thumbnails of the pages you want to repeat (one or several, with the "Select all" and "Clear selection" shortcuts), set "Copies of each page", from 1 to 20, and click "Duplicate and download". Each copy lands right after the original, so the sequence stays easy to follow, and the file is saved with the suffix -duplicado.
Duplicate pages in a PDF →Extracting pages
Extracting is the way to split off only what matters: a chapter, an attachment, the signed pages. You click the thumbnails of the pages you want to take, consecutive or not (2, 5 and 9, say), and click "Extract and download". They come out in a new PDF, in document order (not the order you clicked), with the suffix -paginas. Selecting every page shows the notice "Select fewer than the total pages — extracting all returns the same file." That is deliberate: extracting everything would give you the same file back. If the idea is to split every page into its own file, that's a different route: see how to split a PDF into multiple files.
Extract pages from a PDF →Deleting pages: the fourth task
If organizing means removing blank, duplicated or confidential sheets, the Delete pages tool uses the same thumbnail grid: mark what goes and click "Delete and download". The remaining pages keep their original order. You can't delete them all: in that case you see "You cannot delete all pages of the document." The full walkthrough is in how to delete pages from a PDF.
Delete PDF pages →How to combine the tasks
- Each tool is a separate page with its own download. To chain them, upload the file you just downloaded into the next tool.
- The order that usually saves the most effort: delete what goes, extract if you want a smaller file, reorder what's left and, last, duplicate.
- The original is never altered: each step produces a new copy, with a suffix in its name (-reordenado, -duplicado, -paginas).
- Several PDFs uploaded at once: the tools show the "Document" selector to choose which one to work on, and each downloads one file at a time.
A real example: a 12-page contract with a blank sheet in the middle, the attachment before the clauses, and a signature page that has to go out in two copies. First, Delete pages removes the blank sheet (the file is saved with the suffix -editado). Then Reorder moves the attachment to the end with the arrows. Last, Duplicate marks the signature page with 1 copy. Three downloads, three files, and the original kept intact. If in the end you need one file out of several, see how to merge multiple PDFs into one.
What are the limits of reordering, duplicating and extracting?
- Reorder moves one position per click; there is no drag and drop. Bringing the last page of a long document to the front takes several clicks.
- Duplicate accepts at most 20 copies of each page per pass; for more, repeat with the downloaded file.
- Extract won't accept every page, and the pages come out in the original order, not the order they were clicked.
- Reorder, Duplicate and Extract build a new PDF from the pages: the title and author stored in the file and any fillable form fields don't carry over. Delete pages keeps all of that. If the PDF is a form, fill it in and lock the values before reorganizing.
- Thumbnails are generated on your device: with very long PDFs, the grid can take a few seconds to appear.
Reordering, duplicating, extracting and deleting all happen inside your browser: the PDF is handled on your own device and is never uploaded to any server.
