How to make a video from photos with music: the short answer

Upload the photos (JPG, PNG, WEBP or GIF) and, if you like, a music file; click "Create slideshow" and download an MP4 in Full HD 1920×1080. Without music, each photo stays on screen for 3 seconds. With music, the video lasts exactly as long as the track, split equally among the photos: 90 seconds of music and 3 photos give 30 seconds each. Everything happens in the browser.

What a slideshow video is for

A slideshow is a video where photos appear one after another, like a presentation. Unlike an album, it plays on its own, fits a WhatsApp status, a Reel and the TV at the party. It's the simplest way to turn a folder of photos into a keepsake you can watch:

• A birthday, wedding or tribute video with someone's photos.
• A recap of a trip or of a whole year.
• A post for Instagram, TikTok or a WhatsApp status.
• A product catalog or portfolio as a video to show clients.

Create the slideshow, step by step

1. Open the Slideshow (images → video) tool and upload the photos: drag them onto the "Drag your files" area or click "Select files." JPG, PNG, WEBP and GIF are accepted.
2. Put the photos in order with the list's ↑ and ↓ arrows. If you want music, upload an audio file too; the screen shows "Background track: file name" (only the first track uploaded is used).
3. Click "Create slideshow (N images)." On first use the video engine gets ready and may take a few seconds.
4. Download the video: a single file named atlasdocs-slideshow.mp4, at 1920×1080.

How long each photo stays (the one rule you need to know)

• Without music: 3 seconds per photo. Ten photos make a 30-second video.
• With music: the video lasts as long as the track, and every photo gets the same time. A 2-minute song with 8 photos gives 15 seconds per photo; if you want the photos to change faster, upload more of them or use a shorter song.
• There's no per-photo timing and no transitions (no fade or slide effects): the switch is a straight cut.
• A photo that isn't 16:9 (a phone portrait, an Instagram square) gets black bars on the sides to fit Full HD, with nothing cropped; a photo wider than 16:9 gets the bars at the top and bottom.
• Image quality is high; the photo is scaled down or up to fit 1920×1080 sharply.

Already have the video and just need music?

The Background music track tool lays an audio file under a video you've already recorded, without re-encoding the picture (video quality stays exactly the same). Upload the video and the music, click "Add music and download" and get an MP4 with "-trilha" added to the name. The volume rule is simple and applies to the whole video: if the video already has sound (speech, ambience), the music plays quietly from start to finish, under the original audio; if the video is silent, the music plays at full volume. There's no section-by-section adjustment and no manual volume control.

• The music doesn't loop. If it's shorter than a video with sound, the end of the video has no music.
• Silent video with shorter music: the video ends when the music ends. Pick a track as long as the video or longer.
• Music longer than the video: it's cut at the end of the video, in both cases.
• With several videos, the same music is applied to each one ("Apply to N videos" button).

Sign the video with a logo or text

If the video is yours and you want to protect or sign it, the Watermark on the video tool shows a frame of the video and lets you place a logo ("Add logo (image)," in PNG, JPG or WEBP) and/or text ("Add text," with a color picker), both at once if you like. Drag each item wherever you prefer and adjust "Size" and "Transparency." The "Apply and download video" button produces the file with "-marca" added to the name: the audio stays untouched and the video is re-encoded at high quality, with practically no loss. Long videos may take a few minutes. The watermark is applied to one video at a time, the first in the list. If the browser can't show a frame of the video (it happens with AVI and with some MKV and MOV files), the controls don't appear: convert it to MP4 first.
